Backstory: Born several hundred years ago Otto was a mortal researcher living a happy life in a very different time than he lives now. Having a steady position learning and developing new technologies for his country, Otto lived a meaningful life with his family before war came to tear everything apart. Losing his children drove the war hound somewhat mad and so he began to research shadow energy in attempt to bring them back to life, this gained him the attention of the votili, those born from shadow energy. Through various events that have been lost to time Otto gave up his soul in order to become a votili so that he could continue his work in attempting to revive his family. His actions partially bore fruit when he created nether hounds, feral creatures that were made from his essence and blood, in the image of his family, however realizing that these copies could never replace the original Otto abandoned his attempts to replace his loved ones and instead worked to learn more about shadow energy for the next several hundred years.

Eventually he would stumble across Tatsuo and Akio and through events not within his control he ended up becoming part of their pack, much to Tatsuo's chagrin.
